Last-Minute Gift Ideas

It's Christmas Eve and maybe you've been too busy with work or other activities to do much shopping and/or crafting. Or maybe you're looking for a little something extra. Look no further - we have some ideas for gifts you can purchase without leaving your chair. While they won't be shipped in time for tomorrow morning, we have some great ways to work around this too.

GIFT CARDS

An old standard (or at least an old standard over the last few years). Gift cards get a bad reputation for being not sentimental or personal enough, but I think it's all in how you present it. A gift card for a store or website that you know the person loves is a thoughtful gift, especially if combined with a card or heartfelt note. If you're really short on time, choose to send an e-gift card. Some great options include iTunes, Starbucks, and Cineplex. If you need to put something in their stocking, just print a little note card. I made one free using PicMonkey; feel free to print and use this one or make one yourself!

HANDMADE CRAFTS

When the stores are all closed and you absolutely need a gift in hand for Christmas morning, it's time to get crafty! Do you have an old knit sweater laying around? Here's a great tutorial from hobbyfarms.com on how to convert it into a pair of mittens. Feel more like baking? This Chocolate Peppermint Bark from Taste of Home is supposed to only take 15 minutes (plus time to chill).

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Another excellent gift idea is purchasing an online subscription to something your recipient either already enjoys or you think they'll really love. Great options include Netflix (for movies/TV), Spotify (for music and podcasts), Headspace (for meditation), or the website bluprint (which offers a range of learning opportunities that include fitness and crafts).

VIRTUAL RACES/CHALLENGES

How could we not suggest virtual races for the holidays? They make great last-minute gifts because you can buy an entry for the recipient and not worry about the award arriving by Christmas morning because most people like the run the race before receiving the award anyway! Depending on the company that you order from, you can make your own note card as a stocking stuffer (I've done this for my mother the two previous Christmases) using PicMonkey or other photo editing website. Alternatively, if you order from us, we will email you a certificate that we've already made! Each certificate can be previewed on the corresponding product pages.

Whatever gift you choose to give, happy wrapping! Wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas!
